Mid-Might at ALM Farm

Summer time squash are trying perking peeking out of a row of black plastic.  We transplant the small squash from 5″ pots in by holes within the plastic the place now we have dug a gap and stuffed it with compost.  We water them in properly; lay drip irrigation underneath the plastic after which cowl tehm with floating row cowl to maintain them heat and free from the tough winds.  As soon as they’re about two toes tall and bursting on the seams, we take off the floating row cowl.  Timing for seeding them is essential to get the earliest zukes at market.
